REVIEWS

“The Bumps come highly recommended in the latest Alfonzo Demo Kitchen column. Rated ‘LCD laced sugar cubes’ by the moustachioed culinary one… Sound like slinky farfisa garage pop to me”.
ARTROCKER

“Snazzily shimmering beat pop ahoy. The Bumps it seems delight in carving out super slinky slices of easy on the ear breathless bubblegum pop from yesteryear. Toe-tapping jewel-encrusted candy pop tastiness, that to these ears appear to have been swiped straight from the arse pockets of the Raspberries, (and to a lesser degree) Big Star… a darker half variation of the Everly Brothers (I kid you not) yet struck with the kind of naïve kookiness that was once the hallmark of The Shaggs. ’Heroin Girl’ in particular is a nuzzling treat threaded with wonky keys, Dylan-esque breezy harmonicas and an off kilter and inebriated hillbilly campfire warmth. Though for us personally, first port of call ought to be the weirdly eerie sassily saccharine 60’s soft top psych-edelicised pop of ’I’m A Creepy Guy’ with its wired fuzzy jangles, ’Twilight Zone’ codas and shoe-shuffling duck-walking strums which in all honesty had us recalling the more withdrawn and tender pop moments of Johnny Thunders pairing with Patti Palladin shortly before his death”.
